This preset scales an image to 125% of its original width and height. The image gets 1.25 times wider and taller, which means 1.56 times as many pixels. Enlarging adds pixels but not detail.

Percentage resizing is relative, so every image keeps its own proportions and no target size has to be worked out in advance.

What 125% does to common images

A larger image means a larger file, roughly in proportion to the number of pixels. Expect it to grow by up to 56%.

Phone photo (4000 × 3000)5000 × 3750 px (18.75 MP)
Full HD frame (1920 × 1080)2400 × 1350 px (3.24 MP)
Square image (1000 × 1000)1250 × 1250 px (1.56 MP)

Before you enlarge

Enlarging to 125% creates pixels the camera never captured. The tool interpolates between neighboring pixels, so edges and text get softer the further you go. A scale up to about 150% is usually tolerable for photos viewed at normal size; beyond that, look for the original or a higher-resolution version.

If the larger image is for print, check the pixel count against the print size first (pixels ÷ DPI = inches). Doubling the width and height quadruples the number of pixels but not the amount of detail.

When percentage resizing makes sense

  • A mixed folder of portrait and landscape photos where each should keep its own shape.
  • A quick shrink for email or messaging when you have no target in mind.
  • Enlarging a small graphic by a whole factor, though results get softer the further you go.
  • Repeating the same change across a batch, using the bulk resizer.

Frequently asked questions

What does resizing an image to 125% mean?▼
The width and height are each multiplied by 1.25. A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 5000 × 3750 pixels.
Will the file size also be 125%?▼
No. File size follows the pixel count, which here is 156.3% of the original, and also depends on format and image detail. Treat it as an approximate guide, not an exact figure.
Does it keep the aspect ratio?▼
Yes. Both dimensions use the same scale, so nothing is stretched.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?▼
No. ResizeAny decodes, resizes and re-encodes your picture inside your browser tab, so a photo you prepare for percentage resizing never leaves your device. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the Network tab shows no upload request while you work.
