This preset applies different scales to each axis: 100% to the width and 75% to the height. Because the two values differ, the picture is stretched horizontally by 33%. That is useful for deliberate distortion or to correct a stretched image, but not for ordinary resizing.

Percentage resizing is relative, so every image keeps its own proportions and no target size has to be worked out in advance.

What 100% × 75% does to common images

File size does not drop by the same percentage as the dimensions. It tracks the pixel count, which falls with the square of the scale, but the exact weight also depends on the format and detail. As a rule of thumb, expect the file to shrink by somewhere near 25% in the best case.

Reducing without losing the point of the picture

Reducing to 100% × 75% throws away pixels, and downscaling is where resampling quality matters. ResizeAny uses Lanczos-3, which weighs neighboring pixels so fine lines stay clean instead of turning jagged or smudged.

Check the result at 100% zoom. If a shrunken screenshot or scan has become hard to read, the percentage is too aggressive; step it up or choose a fixed pixel size that keeps the small text legible.

When percentage resizing makes sense

  • A mixed folder of portrait and landscape photos where each should keep its own shape.
  • A quick shrink for email or messaging when you have no target in mind.
  • Enlarging a small graphic by a whole factor, though results get softer the further you go.
  • Repeating the same change across a batch, using the bulk resizer.

How to resize an image to compact height

  1. Add your image. Select a photo or drag it onto the box above. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and BMP files are accepted, and the file stays on your device.
  2. Apply 100% × 75%. The preset scales width and height to 100% × 75% of the original. Each image keeps its own proportions relative to its size.
  3. Download the result. Click resize and save. Check the new pixel dimensions and file size in the preview before downloading.

Frequently asked questions

What does resizing an image to 100% × 75% mean?▼
Width is scaled to 100% and height to 75%. A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 4000 × 2250 pixels, and its proportions change.
Will the file size also be 100%?▼
No. File size follows the pixel count, which here is 75% of the original, and also depends on format and image detail. Treat it as an approximate guide, not an exact figure.
Why are width and height different?▼
The preset applies unequal scales on purpose, so the picture will look stretched. For a normal resize, use a preset where both values are equal, or a fixed size with the aspect-ratio lock on.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?▼
No. ResizeAny decodes, resizes and re-encodes your picture inside your browser tab, so a photo you prepare for percentage resizing never leaves your device. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the Network tab shows no upload request while you work.
