Resize to 25% of the original. Width and height are both multiplied by 0.25, so the pixel count becomes 6.3% of what it was.

Percentage resizing is relative, so every image keeps its own proportions and no target size has to be worked out in advance.

What 25% does to common images

File size does not drop by the same percentage as the dimensions. It tracks the pixel count, which falls with the square of the scale, but the exact weight also depends on the format and detail. As a rule of thumb, expect the file to shrink by somewhere near 94% in the best case.

Reducing without losing the point of the picture

Reducing to 25% throws away pixels, and downscaling is where resampling quality matters. ResizeAny uses Lanczos-3, which weighs neighboring pixels so fine lines stay clean instead of turning jagged or smudged.

Check the result at 100% zoom. If a shrunken screenshot or scan has become hard to read, the percentage is too aggressive; step it up or choose a fixed pixel size that keeps the small text legible.

When percentage resizing makes sense

  • A mixed folder of portrait and landscape photos where each should keep its own shape.
  • A quick shrink for email or messaging when you have no target in mind.
  • Producing preview copies of a large image: take the original and reduce to a fixed share.
  • Repeating the same change across a batch, using the bulk resizer.

Frequently asked questions

What does resizing an image to 25% mean?▼
The width and height are each multiplied by 0.25. A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 1000 × 750 pixels.
Will the file size also be 25%?▼
No. File size follows the pixel count, which here is 6.3% of the original, and also depends on format and image detail. Treat it as an approximate guide, not an exact figure.
Does it keep the aspect ratio?▼
Yes. Both dimensions use the same scale, so nothing is stretched.
Do I need an account, and does it add a watermark?▼
No account and no watermark. Open the page, add your photo, and download the result. Because processing happens on your own device, there is no queue and nothing to wait for, even with a large original.
