Device & Screen Resolution Sizes

A wallpaper looks sharp when its pixel dimensions match the screen it is shown on. Too small and the device enlarges it; too large and it is scaled down and the file is heavier than it needs to be.

These presets output the native resolution for common phones, tablets, laptops and video standards (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K). Each page shows the aspect ratio and megapixel count, so you can judge how much of your photo will remain after fitting it to the screen.

Tips for this category

  • Phones are tall (around 9:19.5), so a landscape photo needs cropping to fill the screen.
  • Different models can share a resolution, so any preset with the same pixel size will do for those.
  • Wallpapers are usually fine as JPG; use PNG if the image has flat colors and sharp lines.
