Resize Image to Exact Centimeter Sizes

A size in centimeters describes a printed object, not a screen. To turn it into pixels you need a resolution: the same 10 × 15 cm print is 394 × 591 px at 100 DPI but 1,181 × 1,772 px at 300 DPI.

These presets set the width and height in centimeters. Each page converts the size into pixels at common DPI values and tells you whether a typical phone photo has enough resolution to print it sharply.

Tips for this category

  • Use 300 DPI for anything held in the hand, 150 DPI for posters viewed from a distance.
  • Set the DPI in the editor before downloading; JPG and PNG files keep the value.
  • Check the pixel count first: a small photo stretched to a large print will look soft whatever the DPI says.
