Web, App & Design Image Sizes

Web and app assets are small and specific: a favicon, a social preview image, an app icon, a hero banner, a blog thumbnail. They load on every visit, so correct dimensions and a sensible file size directly affect how fast a page feels.

Each preset gives one exact output size and a short guide to what that size is typically used for, how big the file is likely to be, and which format fits. Always check your platform's documentation for the requirement that applies to your project.

Tips for this category

  • Export at the exact size you need. Scaling with CSS means the browser downloads more pixels than it shows.
  • WebP and AVIF are usually smaller than JPG at the same visual quality; keep PNG for transparency and sharp graphics.
  • Keep a larger master copy and generate smaller sizes from it, not the other way around.
