Resize Image to Exact Inch Sizes

Inches are the common language of photo prints, frames and US paper. A 4 × 6 inch print at 300 DPI needs 1,200 × 1,800 pixels, and an 8 × 10 needs 2,400 × 3,000. The page for each size does that conversion for you.

Every preset sets the width and height in inches. The pages then show the pixel dimensions at 72, 150 and 300 DPI, the resolution your source photo needs, and the size in centimeters for printers that use metric.

Tips for this category

  • Photo print sizes have fixed ratios (4:6, 5:7, 8:10). Crop to the ratio before resizing, or the lab will crop for you.
  • Hold your phone photo against the required pixels: a 12-megapixel photo covers about 13 × 10 inches at 300 DPI.
  • Order a test print of one size before printing a batch.
